He has a bit of a cough and needs ear goop; other than that he is a healthly six month old, furry, very furry, little boy. Baxter is somewhat affectionate, but I've been fooled before - soooo - I will reserve the right to change my mind if need be.
Chatka, is anxious to make some quality contact, however, Baxter is in no rush to play nice with the pooch.
It has been several days and Baxter has proven himself to be a very mellow guy. Our permanent girls are not too annoyed with him since he most keeps to himself, or our laps, for the most part. Chatka however, is still waiting to be pals.
Our felines Edna, Katie Lee, and Slater Jay are tolerating him and are thankful that he does not jump onto their backs (unlike Indiana, who was constantly chasing and jumping onto them!) See below for update.
And before you say anything, I know cats are not "thankful", but I can dream can't I???
Baxter was mellow - for the first two weeks - after that his URI had gotten under control. And he found himself with a lot more energy. He became overstimulated quickly resulting in hand pawing and biting - he wasn't mean about it, Baxter just had bad manners. We were never fully able to correct this behavior. Today (Dec 31st) he went back to the WHS where they will find him a forever home.
Good luck Baxter!
